James Patrick Stuart (44 in a few days) looks familiar, doesn't he? He's been doing TV and movies for over twenty years, so you've probably seen him in something. Most recently, he's played the caddish British newscaster Colin Cook on Hot in Cleveland and Leviathan-possessed Dick Roman on Supernatural. The Colin character is entertaining, but I really like Dick.
Like I wasn't going to go there. Yeah, it was so easy (and bad) I should be ashamed of myself. But I gave up shame for Lent years ago. So there you go.
However, I was surprised to find out about his very first role. Back before the re-imagining, there was Battlestar Galactica. In the passing of (a very short) time it was cancelled and, lo, there was a letter writing campaign to protest this. ABC did listen and verily did it resurrect the show. But alas, it was in the form of the abomination known as Galactica 1980. Sometimes, it is best to let sleeping robot dogs lie.
There were a couple of good reasons to watch it, at least for me. There was this other character, though. This weird child genius named Doctor Zee. He was played by two child actors. During the series, it was none other than a very young Stuart. He was going by Patrick Stuart at the time, but later changed it. I wonder why?
