Flashback

So I'm starting this new feature, which will be at least monthly. It's for guys who were popular years ago, and may or may not still be. We'll start with Scott Bakula, who turns 55 today.

The first thing I ever saw him in (as did many others) was the late 80s/early 90s series Quantum Leap. It was one of my favorite shows at the time. There was such a variety of stories, and well-written. And then there's Scott. Not pretty, not classically handsome, per se, but attractive nonetheless. Plus he sings. And the show oftimes had him shirtless, which was always a bonus. He did other stuff after, including the lead on Enterprise, but he'll always be Sam Beckett, to me. He's aging well too, almost looking better now than he did during Quantum Leap.

True story. A few years ago, my mom said I looked like him. Which is better than saying I look like John Lennon. Which I've had happen, and I ask what drugs the people are on. Anyway, I told mom that it was the nicest thing anyone ever said to me, since I think Scott's so hot. That, I'll take.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week - extra

Today is the birthday of Ben's better half, Matt Damon. Hard to believe he'll be 40 next year. Hardly seems any time ago that Good Will Hunting came out. To be honest, I was never the biggest fan of Mattie. Then I saw The Talented Mr. Ripley, and was blown away. And if the sheer acting wasn't enough, I found out he could sing. Really well. That's it, I was lost. Still prefer Ben, though Matt's getting more appealing, especially after he pumped up some for the Bourne movies.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

NOTE: Some NSFW links below. Fair warning.

No real relation between these two, other than overall smokosity.

Ryan Daharsh is a model "discovered" in 2006 by Lewis Payton. He's been on the cover of various magazines and worked for A&F and other stuff like that. Payton said of him,

"I have never seen a more perfect body ... He is a living Greek statue."
Personally, I like him better with straight hair rather than curly, but I'd take him either way. You can see more of his looks here.

Happy birthday to dimpled darling Mario Lopez, who'll be 36 on Saturday. He first got major notice in Saved by the Bell back in the early '90s. For those who never saw it, repeats are still showing on TBS in the mornings. Then watch this funny alternate version.

After that, attempting to be taken more seriously as an actor, he played gay Olympic diver Greg Louganis. He did various stuff after that, including, God love him, David DeCoteau's The Journey: Absolution (which you can see here). Between movies, he became rather the host whore. A banner year for Mario was 2006, between his dramatic turn on Nip/Tuck, and nearly winning the third season of Dancing With The Stars. I wonder about their voting system sometimes. His photoshoot in 2008 when he got picked by People as the year's hottest bachelor was just, well, words fail. At the rate he's going, he'll be the sexiest octogenarian in a few decades.
