WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

We'll end the year with Jason Behr, who will be one year older on Wednesday. He's probably most remembered from the Roswell TV series. Between the gentle whispery voice and that body, how could I not be a fan? This commercial doesn't hurt, either.

I think he's underrated, and hasn't broken out like he deserves. Maybe in part b/c instead of looking like he did before, he's doing roles where he gets more grungy. Boy needs to shave and get cleaned up, imho.

Flashback

Merry Christmas! Andy Travis is 64 today. Gary Sandy, that is. He played the tight-pants-wearing lead on the classic WKRP in Cincinnati from '78 to '92. The first time I saw him, though, was in All That Glitters. It was an odd Norman Lear show, taking place on an alternate Earth where woman were in charge, a sort of role-reversal comedy. Gary played a secretary, with all that entails. Interesting series. He got his start on various soaps before all that, which figures.

The photos above I found on Gary's official site, which I recommend visiting.

Don't say I'm stingy with the eye-candy. I give unto you my Chrismahanukwanzakah present, fitness model and sometime actor Luke Guldan. I think I first stumbled across him over at Definition of a Man. Prime wallpaper material, if ever I saw it. After copious investigation, though, I can find no information about his birthday, which is when I normally like to post wallpapers of a particular subject. Well, I decided to do it now, so there. Check out this funny appearance he made on The Colbert Report. It's at the last minute, if you want to skip a bit. And here's his site. Anyway, hope y'all enjoy.

My Christmas present to you. Christian Kane. Again. If you think he's plain, you must be insane.

Brad Pitt is 46 today, and is showing no signs of slowing down with the sexy. I'm not so big a fan, though. Not saying that I don't think he's fine. Far from it. But out of today's three birthday boys, Brad's at the bottom of the list of who I'd like to meet. In my bed. For a long, long weekend. So if you want him, I won't fight you for him. 'Cause I'm that kinda guy, generous to a fault, doncha know.

All the birthday boys today are over 40, which goes to show that some things definitely get better with age.

First is 44 year old Shawn Christian. I think I first saw him in Tremors 3, though I didn't fully appreciate his charms, b/c he didn't take his shirt off. Apparently he was in a few eps of Charmed, but you couldn't prove it by me. Though I didn't really watch it much, I began paying attention to him more in Summerland. He started out in soaps, on ATWT. Now he's on DOOL. As to why I find him of interest, lookie here, here and here.

Next is another favorite of mine, Casper Van Dien, who turns 41. I have two words for you: Starship Troopers. And two more: Starship Troopers 3. Over ten years between the two, and he's just as do-able now as he was then.

Some may think I've saved the best for last. See what you think in the next post.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

Birthday week deluxe!

Tomorrow it's Michael Shanks', of Stargate SG-1 fame. Only on TV could archaeologists look that good. And woo-hoo, he's gonna play Hawkman on Smallville in February!

I don't have wallpapers for them, but Michael shares his birthday with Adam Brody, Don Johnson, Geoff Stults, Stuart Townsend, and Garrett Wang. Not a bad day to be born, apparently.

Wait 'till you get a load of Friday.

Lookie, it's Ben Browder, who I picked as my desired birthday present last month. He turns 47 today. Yes, that's right, 47. I believe the technical term is... hot day-yum!

Besides Ben and Rusty, it's also Gary Dourdan and Rider Strong's birthday. Not a bad day to be born, I'd say.

Rusty Joiner again, whose birthday is this Friday. The first wallpaper was on my desktop for a long time, until I turned with much fickleness to Tom, then Justin.

Coincidentally, another one of my favorites will be celebrating their birthday this Friday. You'll have to wait 'til then to find out whom.

When did I first see birthday boy Brendan Fraser, who'll be 41 today? Think it was Airheads, even though Encino Man came out before. Thought, "Cute and funny, worth keeping an eye out for." He was more serious (and kind of a bastard) in Mrs. Winterbourne, which showed he could do drama.

Aside for a personal theory. Actors who are really funny can do drama well, but dramatic actors can't always do comedy. Robin Williams comes to mind.

Anyway, cute and funny turned hunkalicious when Brendan did George of the Jungle. Daaaaa-yummy! Liked him in Blast from the Past. Then he really hit paydirt, careerwise, with The Mummy. Great when he returned to the live-action cartoon genre with Dudley Do-Right. After that, haven't really liked much of what he's done. Still, we'll always have George.

Tom Welling, stylin'. He seems to have bulked up some this season, if Pandora is any indication. No complaints here.

Flashback

I know I didn't first see Maxwell Caulfield (he's 50 today) in Grease 2. I don't get the whole Grease thing, the play, the movies, none of it. Just like Cats, I completely don't understand why people even like them. Oh well.

Anyway, I think the first thing I remember him in is The Boys Next Door, which I'm sure I saw on Skinemax back in the day. He did psycho sexy so well, he was both scary and incredibly hot all at the same time. I don't think I saw him on the Dynasty spinoff. He's still looking pretty good, from what I can tell. Guess marriage to an older woman agrees with him.

No real relation between these guys, other than that they look good topless. I usually try to have some connecting theme in these posts (birthday, TV show, whatever), but sometimes I look through the wallpapers I've done and say, "That one, and, oh, that one." There is a birthday boy in this post, so there's that. Also with the time of year it is, they're most definitely something for which to give thanks.

The first is Dean Cain's dimpled younger brother, Eddie Cibrian. Ok, they're not really brothers, but they look like they could be. Or cousins, at least. Really, really hot cousins. If the wallpaper above leaves any doubts about the ableness of Eddie's body, more evidence can be obtained here, here and here.

This Saturday is underwear model Alan Ritchson's birthday. Some may remember him from the third season of American Idol. Not a bad singer, actually. More likely you'd know him for playing proto-Aquaman on Smallville. As an actor, he makes a fantastic underwear model. He did provide great fodder for the Hoyay, though.

More Marcus Schenkenberg. These are kinda subtle and artsy. I find myself doing more wallpapers like this. Why? Dunno. They just look nice this way, doncha know.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

We've got two Scorpios this week.

Today it's former 98 Degrees guy Nick Lachey. I don't think of him as a boybander, as 98 Degrees were more R&B. Actually, I never was too thrilled by Nick. To me, Drew was cuter, and Jeff was way hotter, and a better singer. Don't get me wrong, Nick's got a slamming body, but his nose and lips are too big. And he sounds like he has a hernia when he sings. So, neck down is dynamite; neck up, not so much. That's why God invented paper bags. He's dabbled in acting, not doing too badly on Charmed.

Then we have Josh Duhamel, who'll be celebrating on Saturday. He's come a long way since winning a male model of the year contest in '97. Evidence of that here, from his soap days, and here, from when he was doing Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! and Las Vegas. On the other hand, The Picture of Dorian Gray may not have been the best idea.

In Memoriam

Ah, what would could have been. Jon-Erik Hexum would have been 52 today. I remember seeing him in Voyagers! in '82 and thinking I'd have to keep an eye out for him. He did a couple of roles after that, then died in a stupid accident in '84 at the age of 26, while filming his series Cover Up. What a sad, sad waste.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week - extra

When I found that Matthew McConaughey was born this week (he'll be 40 today), I decided to add him to my birthday wishlist. Because... well, just look. Am I greedy to want him and Ben and Justin? Then call me greedy, hang it all! Could I handle them all? Dunno, but if not, hey, what a way to go.

I think I first noticed him in A Time to Kill. Him wearing glasses in the movie made him that much cuter to me. I haven't seen many other movies he's done, but did like him in Sahara. Didn't hurt, either, that Steve Zahn was in it too. Love to do some wallpapers of him, but haven't found any photos of him that I thought would work. If any of you out there know where I could find some, I'd love ya forever.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

This week's my birthday. Can I have Ben Browder as my present?

You thought maybe I'd ask for Justin? Mind you, I wouldn't turn that down if offered. But I'm more in the mood for a man who doesn't wax his chest frequently. A manly man, if you will, and that's Ben. Though they both look good in leather. Now if I could have Ben and Justin, there's a man sammy I wouldn't mind being the bread or the filling for.

We must all thank TPTB that Ben got the lead on Farscape, as he's brought such pleasure to so many. And that he got on Stargate SG-1 afterwards. What next, Ben? And please, let it involve lots of shirtlessness.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

This post's theme is CSI.

First we have this Thursday's birthday boy, Brendan Fehr. He first got known as one of the main characters on Roswell. Did some TV and movies after, then played a lab tech for three seasons on CSI: Miami. The latest thing he's done is play Booth's brother on Bones. I like the longer hair that he used to have, it framed his face better. It's interesting how hair styles for men change over time.

Speaking of hair, let's talk Eric Szmanda, portrayer of lab geek Greg Sanders, the man of a zillion hairstyles on CSI. It's the geek factor that makes him extra cute to me, I think. Like him with longer hair, wish he'd kept it like that for a while.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

Wednesday is Matt Dallas' birthday. You probabaly know him best as the navel-less wonder on Kyle XY. Sadly, it got cancelled, but he's gone on to be cougar bait on Eastwick. We'll see how long that lasts.

Canadian Ryan Reynolds turns 33 this Friday. He was always funny and kinda cute. Then he got a part in '03 in Blade: Trinity, and had to build himself up for the role. The results (good gravy Marie!) can be seen in some of the wallpapers above.

Him getting cast as Green Lantern is interesting, what with the Deadpool movie set to film about the same time. Playing a DC character and a Marvel one simultaneously wouldn't be a first. But, unlike Halle, Ryan would be the title character in both. Of the other options, I was hoping for Bradley or Nathan, as either would be better for the part, imho. At least it didn't go to one of the two J's.

Some time back I mentioned how I didn't see what the big deal was about the Twilight guy. Apparently Ryan begs to differ. If they were in a movie together, maybe I'd change my mind.
