A couple of awesome Aussies with birthdays later this week.
First is the portrayer of Thor, the celestial Chris Hemsworth (soon to be 28). He's had a long career of hunkiness, starting out with one of Down Under's favorite soaps, Home and Away. His long, lean body was on frequent display. Before Thor, he played daddy Kirk in that movie. Which I finally saw and it was OK. I just have to consider it taking place in an alternate universe, and that the show I grow up with still exists in it's own dimension. Yep, I'm a bit of a fanboy.
Another highlight was Chris' appearance on 5th season of Australia's Dancing with the Stars. Ye gods, his hips have powers beyond those of mere mortals!
Next we have transplant Charles Mesure (41 on Friday). He was born in England, but his family moved to Australia when he was 5. I think I first saw him as the archangel Michael on Xena and Hercules. So studly it was positively unholy. Most recently, he was a regular on the "re-imagined" V. I guess that would make him the new Marc Singer. A worthy successor, I'd say.
