TJ Hoban

I'm finding it more difficult to find wallpaper material for the summer birthday guys, at least for some weeks. Like this one. So I'm going with my preferred fallback, models. Quite a few don't give out a specific birthday, just a year. Like TJ Hoban, who was born in 1972, making him 40. He's acted here and there, but is probably best known as a fitness model. I've seen this picture floating around the Internet for a while, and finally I know who it is. He's been on the cover of most of the major fitness magazines. Dylan Neal

Today is the 42nd birthday of the square-jawed, unnaturally handsome Dylan Neal. With a face like that (not to mention the body), he was destined for soapdom. In his case, The Bold and the Beautiful for several years. Where he stripped, twice.

After B+B, he continued working, but couldn't seem to get anything long-term. It's like he has the McGinley curse. Doubts? I give you Pacific Palisades, Hyperion Bay, Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers and Blood Ties. The Bab 5 spin-off pilot is where I first saw him. And him and Kyle together on Blood Ties, woof!

He does keep getting work, but he deserves a series that lasts a few years. Maybe someday.

Flashback

Today is Bruce Boxleitner's 60th birthday. He initially attracted my interest as the title character in 1982's TRON, for which a sequel is in the works. That interest was only enhanced by Scarecrow and Mrs. King. He also appeared on Battle of the Network Stars around that time on the CBS team, but before Scarecrow, so I'm not sure what qualified him to be on.

The next decade saw his major return, and how many know him now, as John Sheridan on Babylon 5. He's stayed busy, doing TV and movies and even dabbling in writing. But to many of us, he'll always be TRON or Lee Stetson.
