Well, I believe this is the first DeCoteau Dude that's also a flashback. It's surfer pin-up boy of yore, Jan-Michael Vincent. He and Don back in the day, beautiful. Jan-Michael is 69 now, but we can look back and remember him in his glory days. Like on Tumblr.

Our family moved away from Miami to the north central part of Florida in 1981. I think the first time I really regretted the move was when Miami Vice came out in 1984. Kinda dug Philip Michael Thomas, but Don Johnson... What a sexy beast. Not that I'd likely have met him if I was still living in Miami, but knowing he was accessible, mmm.

What you mayn't know is how amazingly pretty he used to be. Case in point, A Boy and His Dog in 1975. He definitely grew into his looks quite nicely.

Don has a son, Jesse, who'll be 30 in December. He got the good genes, that's for sure. And boy, is he channelling dad in this photo.

Yeezly, has it really been 25 years since The Princess Bride came out, and I was introduced to the beauty that is Cary Elwes? He did stuff like Lady Jane before, but never watched them, though I did so after The Princess Bride. He's worked fairly non-stop since, in both movies and TV. And he does drama and comedy equally well. I think I like him best when he's funny. Hot Shots! and Robin Hood: Men in Tights, for example.

I never saw him in The X-Files, but I didn't watch the last season since Duchovny had left. Didn't watch Saw, because I'm not into torture porn. It was nice seeing him on SVU. And he's been brilliant on Psych. I'd love to see him on it more, but that could be tricky with his character. Have to settle for quality versus quantity.

I thought my attraction to Michael Biehn was due to his rugged handsomeness. He definitely had that as Kyle Reese in 1984's The Terminator. And shirtlessness. He didn't do much of that afterwards, at least in what I saw. But I did like him in his other Cameron collaborations, Aliens and The Abyss.

Few men would I describe as exquisite, but the word is perfect for Miles O'Keeffe. The acting, not so much, but the body? Exquisite. Magnificent works, too.

Of course, he first caught my attention in his premiere as the literary primitive in Tarzan, the Ape Man. I think there was some chick in it, too, but I wasn't paying attention. He went on to do some wretched, yet campily amusing, films. Remember the Ator movies (a Conan knockoff) and Sword of the Valiant (where he played Gawain)? He was a pretty sexy Dracula in Waxwork, though. The last thing I see in his IMDb bio is a short he did in 2010. He is 58, maybe he decided to retire from acting. His career will live on, though, and continue to entertain and amuse for years to come, I'd wager.

Steven Weber

Before Sam and Dean, the two hottest brothers on TV were serious Joe and wacky Brian Hackett (played by Tim Daly and Steven Weber respectively) on Wings. The show ran from 1990-1997, and was made by the same folks that did Cheers and Frasier. Back then, they looked like this. A couple of years ago, this.

Tim was my favorite, completely adorable, and is 56 today. Back in the 90's, he bemoaned the curse of his good looks. Yeah, because looking like Julian McMahon but prettier is such a burden. He also has a son who's gone into the biz.
Steven, who had great hair, and still doesn't look too shabby, will be 51 on Sunday.

Who didn't love Jared Martin, now 70, back in the '70s and '80s? I first fell for him in The Fantastic Journey. Wasn't enough of a fan, though, to watch him regularly on Dallas. Started following him again when he did the War of the Worlds TV series. Yes, the first season was better.

It appears he stopped acting in the '90s. Now he's an artist, principally with photography. Very nice work.

Bob Paris

Is Bob Paris really 51 today? My, how time flies. I saw him at a speaking engagement at UF in, let's see, the early '90s. Or maybe late '80s. He was still with his first hubbie, Rod Jackson, at the time, which would make it between 1989 and 1995. Anyway, lovely man, in every way. Not full of himself or anything, though if anyone had the right to be, it was him, looking like he did. If only I'd driven him and Rod from the JIA to Gainesville. I was involved at the time with the campus' gay group, who was sponsoring the speech. I probably could have wangled my way to do the driving, but I think I figured I'd behave like a starstruck idiot, so I passed up the opportunity. Oh well, c'est la vie.

He's nowhere near as visible as he used to be, but he seems to be doing OK for himself. Wishing him best birthday wishes, 'cause he deserves only good things.

Btw, am I the only one who thinks he was like a way more muscular version of John Wesley Shipp? Just saying.

John Davidson is 69 today. He's now a silver fox, as you can see above. He was blandly handsome back in the day. He did acting and singing, and still does theater, but most would know him from all the game shows he hosted, like Hollywood Squares.

There was a show that followed Magnum for much of its run through the '80s. That show was Simon & Simon. Some may have liked Rick, but I was all about A.J., played by Jameson Parker, who's 63 today. He started out in soaps, and has worked steadily, recently doing a guest spot on JAG. Ironic to me, is that now he sports a Selleck style 'stache. Shave it, Jamie, shave it.

Jack Scalia (60 today) was one of those generically good-looking (ok, very good-looking) dark haired Selleck type hunks. Without the mustache. He appeared on Remington Steele and Dallas, amongst other stuff. He's still around, still working, and more stately looking. Not doing bad, not doing bad at all.
