You know, I really need to give credit where credit is due. I scrounge for photos all over the internet to make these wallpapers. Many are candid shots or are taken by who knows whom. But there are some which are taken by professional photographers, and I should thank them for their lovely work.

My first wallpaper of Justin Hartley (previously featured) is a prime example. It was taken by picture taker extraordinaire Tom Cullis. Some of these wallpapers of Justin are also derived from his work. There'll be some more tomorrow too. You can Tom's work at ModelMayhem here. A new reader was wondering who the guy on the right of the blog header is. I realize I've been remiss in identifying the new guys each month. I put the labels for them in the post, but not everyone may notice that. So in future, I shall make sure to let y'all know who's who.

Happy New Year! We're all still here, as I noted on December 22. So new banner time. For 2013, the guys in the banner will be amongst those being featured that month. So even more of a sneak preview, doncha know.

This year is also the 500th anniversary of my resident state, and the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. Plus the 5th anniversary of anything that happened in 2008. To go along with the 5 theme. Wowzers, time to party down.

Ack, ack, ack! I have been remiss, but have changed the site banner. And yes, as far as I can tell, that's an authentic photo of Misha. One of the few shirtless photos of him I've been able to find. If that is genuine, I don't know why he doesn't go shirtless all over the place.

Justin Hartley (35 this week, and previously featured) hasn't had much screen time since the end of Smallville. He did a small guest spot on Chuck, which was nice, but with no shirtlessness, which was not so good. And he'll be on an episode of Castle tonight, so tune in, folks.

And CW, where's the love? They're doing a Green Arrow pilot, but Justin isn't even attached to the project?! Grrr. But they don't hate him completely, since he's going to be on Hart of Dixie later this year, possibly as a recurring character. Him and Wilson Bethel on the same show, which has no lack of shirtlessness... oh, the possibilities.

It's nice he did get some time away from the biz; he's earned it. Considering his being on Dixie later, I doubt he'll let himself go. 'Cause I don't think any of us are ready to see the last of this.

Ah, Smallville, how we will miss thee

So last week was the series finale of Smallville. I was kind of disappointed. The whole Darkseid storyline wrap up felt very deus-ex-machina. And couldn't they have given a closeup of Welling, head to toe, in the Superman duds? Yet I was still crying at the end, 'cause I'm a big old sap, and it was neat to finally see him become Superman.

I wonder if there'll ever be another show with such shameless exploitation of such a variety of hot guys? Maybe 90210, if it lasts longer. It's amazing that Smallville wasn't a Spelling show, since Charmed was neck-and-neck in that department.

The cast has inspired many a wallpaper here. In fact, the launch of this blog (two years ago yesterday) was of one of them. So I thought I'd do an homage. Also fear not, I'll be doing more wallpapers in the future of guys from the show, since it's a goldmine (no, not that kind) that's far from being exhausted. Thank you, WB/CW, for keeping it on for 10 years. Yep, the stories got crappier as the series continued, but the guys, oh, the guys...

None of this week's birthday boys thrilled me. Or if they did, I couldn't find decent photos to make wallpapers of them. What to do? Then I noticed that someone I'd previously used for subject matter had a birthday this week. Him being the topic of my very first post and all, I decided to revisit the lovely Mister Hartley. And there's lots of photos available of him, natch. I think the first is from a publicity shot for Aquaman; the second is him as Green Arrow. He'll be 34 today. May he have many, many more birthdays.

Well, two hot Justins have birthdays this week.

Friday it's my perennial favorite Justin Hartley. I think these are either promos for the Aquaman pilot, or some other photoshoot. More stills here, and in action here.

Then on Sunday it's Justin Timberlake. He says he's bringing sexy back, but I never knew it left.

This week's my birthday. Can I have Ben Browder as my present?

You thought maybe I'd ask for Justin? Mind you, I wouldn't turn that down if offered. But I'm more in the mood for a man who doesn't wax his chest frequently. A manly man, if you will, and that's Ben. Though they both look good in leather. Now if I could have Ben and Justin, there's a man sammy I wouldn't mind being the bread or the filling for.

We must all thank TPTB that Ben got the lead on Farscape, as he's brought such pleasure to so many. And that he got on Stargate SG-1 afterwards. What next, Ben? And please, let it involve lots of shirtlessness.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week - extra

So, season nine (!) of Smallville starts tonight. That calls for, let's see... more of my first post, Justin Hartley. The first wallpaper is him as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, the second from the failed Aquaman pilot. How sad it didn't get picked up. But that did allow Justin to become a regular on Smallville. The hoyay between Oliver Queen and Clark Kent isn't as intense as what Clark and Lex had. But it is purtier. And there's more than hoyay in the movie at the end of this post.

And next month he'll join the select (?) group of SyFy (sic, very sic) Channel go-to guys in Megafault. It was supposed to air this month, but it looks like it got postponed.
