All these years. I was born and raised Catholic, yet I've always thought the Twelve Days of Christmas ended on Christmas Day. Apparently that's an American thing. In fact, the Twelve Days begin on Christmas, and go to January 5 (a.k.a Twelfth Night). Which makes it even worse, what with me being such a Shakespeare nut. I think I kind of knew, since Mom always put out the little manger scene on Christmas and took it down in January. I just didn't fully realize that was the proverbial Twelve Days of Christmas.

Anyway, I'd decided to do my own Twelve Days celebration, and now I know when to start. Today. Merry Christmas, by the way.

Before I started this blog, not only did I make wallpapers for fun, but also collages. I used them as them for screensavers. So since I've shared wallpapers with y'all, I figured it was overdue to share the collages. So, a few every day for the next twelve days. And Happy New Year. Which is still a surprise, what with the Mayan Apocalypse not coming to pass and all.

This month's DeCoteau dude is Aaron Jaeger. Not a lot to say about him, since he's not done much between the two movies he did with David, The Brotherhood VI: Initiation and Christmas Spirit. I think you can see him in this excerpt from The Brotherhood VI. I believe he's third from the right. If I'm wrong, I don't think that'll detract from your appreciation.

I've been doing some digging, and have discovered David's next series concept will be movies based on Shakespeare plays. But, you know, still in the horror genre with guys running around in tighty whities. Can't stray too far from a successful formula. They'll all start with "1616", which is the year Shakespeare died. The ones I know about are:

The first subject of this post is he whom I referred to in the last one. That being the sexy beast that is Colin Farrell. His first movie appearance was in 1996's The Disappearance of Finbar, with Jonathan Rhys Meyers' as the title character. Years later, the tables turned, with Colin starring as Alexander. He's been working non-stop since Finbar, and I've like everything he's been in. I haven't gotten around to seeing Fright Night, but I feel I'll like that too. With him and the Tennant in it, I can't imagine not liking it.

I'm planning on more holiday-themed posts this year. So I had to do one for St. Patrick's Day, me being Irish and raised Catholic and all, faith and begorrah. I was going to do a quickie collage, like I did for Valentine's Day. Then I found blogs with posts like this. So I decided to do wallpapers. In fact, almost twenty, so I'm splitting them into two posts. Hey, if there's any holiday I'm going to get carried with, it should be St. Patrick's Day. Almost all have green backgrounds, to go with the holiday.

DDoM - DeCoteau Dude of the Month

We begin the month (and the year) with two guys. I was only going to feature Josh Henderson. But since I started last year with Tyler Hoechlin, and there's so many great new photos of him, thought I'd do a double.

Josh was one of the stars of David's 2003 opus, Leeches! Probably the most successful of the cast, as far as long-term careers go. How could he not be, with such stellar thespian talent?

Before the acting, he was musical, as part of a short-lived pop group. After working with David, he got various TV and film work. Then he landed a recurring role on Desperate Housewives, where he was able to display his true dramatic range. He showed up later on a few episodes of 90210. Now, if the network gods don't push it back again, we'll be seeing Joshie this summer on the Dallas revival. Co-starring, ironically enough, another Housewives alum, the moobalicious Jesse Metcalfe. Now there's someone who deserves to be in a DeCoteau flick. How'd you miss him, Dave?

In 2010 and 2011, I started the year out with he of the temptingly tasty torso, Craig Horner. But with Legend of the Seeker cancelled, there are no new pictures coming out of a shirtless sweaty Cypher. But since I've gotten on my wide wallpaper craze, I thought I'd add dimension to some previously posted ones. His career showed such promise. It's pretty amazing to see his evolution as an actor. Let's hope this isn't the last we see of Mister Horny. Hornier. You get what I meant.

I did want to start the new year with more than recycled material. So here's someone whose birthday is later this week. A man with a body to die for, eyes you could get lost in for hours, funny and down-to-earth, and speaks lovely French to boot. I've featured him before, but let's revisit Bradley Cooper. All I've got to say is, bask away. Oh, and Happy New Year.
