WoW - Wallpaper of the Week - extra
Today is Alan Ritchson's birthday. Sources vary as to whether it's his 28th or 30th. Unfortunately, Blue Mountain State got cancelled, so we won't be seeing Alan parading around in minimal clothing on a regular basis. At least on TV, I think he still models. But he's graduating to the big screen, appearing next year in the new Hunger Games movie. Dunno how much clothing he'll be wearing in it.
For the next few days, though, I'll be giving you more wallpapers of him in minimal clothing. Thank you, Alan, for doing so much underwear modelling. Evidence, for the doubtful, that there is a God. 'Cause I can not believe that this is a result of random chance.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week
What can you say about Alan Ritchson (29 today and previously featured) that hasn't been said already? Wish he did more gay stuff, like on 90210? Or chained up and wet scenes like he did on Smallville? Or be seen with as few clothes as possible? Well, the last is a given.
We've not seen the end of Mister Ritchson. OK, actually, we have. And I'm hoping we'll continue seeing it for some time, especially on Blue Mountain State. Give the fans what they want, and I think Alan knows what the fans want. My surprise with BMS is finding out how funny Ritchson is, and how smart he must be. Because you can't play a character that dumb and actually be that dumb in real life. Which means you could hold intelligent conversation when you're done posing him. Check out Superherofan's collection, to explore Alan's talents further.
Other birthdays this week:
• Lucas Black (29)
• Cameron Fox (33)
• Dean O'Gorman (35)

National Underwear Day
Now here's something I can't believe I've missed for so long. Thanks to Towleroad, I discovered that today is National Underwear Day. It's been going on since 2003, and I only found out about it this year! It's definitely a holiday I'll be keeping my eye on in the future. As should we all.
To commemorate, here's some wallpapers I did about 4 years ago of Alan Ritchson. I've not posted them previously, so this presented a perfect opportunity. In fact, I'm going through my hard drive and finding more created-but-unshared wallpapers, which I'll be posting in the months to come.
Also, I thought I'd provide links to various blogs that relate to the holiday. Some are updated regularly, some not so much. But all have content of interest. Enjoy!

Ah, Smallville, how we will miss thee
So last week was the series finale of Smallville. I was kind of disappointed. The whole Darkseid storyline wrap up felt very deus-ex-machina. And couldn't they have given a closeup of Welling, head to toe, in the Superman duds? Yet I was still crying at the end, 'cause I'm a big old sap, and it was neat to finally see him become Superman.
I wonder if there'll ever be another show with such shameless exploitation of such a variety of hot guys? Maybe 90210, if it lasts longer. It's amazing that Smallville wasn't a Spelling show, since Charmed was neck-and-neck in that department.
The cast has inspired many a wallpaper here. In fact, the launch of this blog (two years ago yesterday) was of one of them. So I thought I'd do an homage. Also fear not, I'll be doing more wallpapers in the future of guys from the show, since it's a goldmine (no, not that kind) that's far from being exhausted. Thank you, WB/CW, for keeping it on for 10 years. Yep, the stories got crappier as the series continued, but the guys, oh, the guys...
So here are a few, in alphabetical order:

Chris Carmack (Geoff Johns)

Justin Hartley (Green Arrow)

James Marsters (Brainiac)

Jesse Metcalfe (Van McNulty)

Cory Monteith (Frat Cowboy)

Alan Ritchson (Aquaman)

Kyle Schmid (Sebastian Kane)

Michael Shanks (Hawkman)

Ian Somerhalder (Adam Knight)

Tom Welling (Clark Kent)

Paul Wesley (Lucas Luthor)

Kevin Zegers (Seth Nelson)

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week

No real relation between these guys, other than that they look good topless. I usually try to have some connecting theme in these posts (birthday, TV show, whatever), but sometimes I look through the wallpapers I've done and say, "That one, and, oh, that one." There is a birthday boy in this post, so there's that. Also with the time of year it is, they're most definitely something for which to give thanks.
The first is Dean Cain's dimpled younger brother, Eddie Cibrian. Ok, they're not really brothers, but they look like they could be. Or cousins, at least. Really, really hot cousins. If the wallpaper above leaves any doubts about the ableness of Eddie's body, more evidence can be obtained here, here and here.
This Saturday is underwear model Alan Ritchson's birthday. Some may remember him from the third season of American Idol. Not a bad singer, actually. More likely you'd know him for playing proto-Aquaman on Smallville. As an actor, he makes a fantastic underwear model. He did provide great fodder for the Hoyay, though.

WoW - Wallpaper of the Week - extra

So, season nine (!) of Smallville starts tonight. That calls for, let's see... more of my first post, Justin Hartley. The first wallpaper is him as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, the second from the failed Aquaman pilot. How sad it didn't get picked up. But that did allow Justin to become a regular on Smallville. The hoyay between Oliver Queen and Clark Kent isn't as intense as what Clark and Lex had. But it is purtier. And there's more than hoyay in the movie at the end of this post.
And next month he'll join the select (?) group of SyFy (sic, very sic) Channel go-to guys in Megafault. It was supposed to air this month, but it looks like it got postponed.
